HISTORY

Port Alaçatı was established on the South penninsula of Çeşme, İzmir and on the marshy land to the West of the Karşıyaka River. After the establishment of Kutlu Aktaş dam, this Azmak (Creek) region, which was deprived of fresh water flows, was no longer a spawning point for the fishes and an accommodation point for herons and migratory birds. With the start of the Port Alaçatı Project the reclamation of the natural Azmak actualize slowly, clean water flow was provided to the area and the nature life came back to this area again with year by year. On these days, people are no longer surprised to see fish jumping out of the water into the sky, and flamingos and other great herons visiting the region during the winter months. Being able to bring the natural life in the region back to life while realizing such a modern settlement project is the biggest source of pride for our Port Alaçatı team.

Same with the Project, its short history and its starting point is also an unusual story… And this story begins with the famous beach of France called Cote D’Azur. If we ask you ‘What is the most visited attraction place in France’ most of us could guess the answer as Eiffel Tower. But do you know the second most attractive place in France? It is Port Grimaud! Port Grimaud, a residential Project that begun in the 1960’s, is a project which broke new ground in terms of both reclaiming the swamp at the mouth of a river and being a port settlement opening to the Mediterranean with its canals. The architectures of the Port Grimaud discovered the land of Port Alaçatı years ago and today they are doing the architectural and technical consultancy of Port Alaçatı. Their aim is to develop Port Alaçatı with a more modern and more conscious environmental understanding, with their 40-plus years of experience and knowledge, and make it a more sensitive and aesthetic settlement center than Port Grimaud... Besides the French architectural group, another advantage of Port Alaçatı is that the project is being developed with very talented, creative and experienced Turkish architectural offices. In this way, Port Alaçatı embodies the modern synthesis of Turkish, Aegean and Mediterranean architectures.

All the fronts are different from each other and unique. Each building has its own personality. Port Alaçatı is the first project to eliminate uniformity in Turkey, which has unwillingly adopted the concept of a uniform site in construction for years. The construction of the 1st phase, which initially consisted of 12 flats, 13 rows of houses in different sizes, and an 18-room boutique hotel consisting of 2 blocks, was completed in 2007. The 43 Beach House Projects called Yamaç Houses ( Slope Houses) and İskele houses (Port Houses), where the life began in 2010, were also highly appreciated by the buyers and a very different and special ‘Port Alaçatı Project’ has began to show up. The phase, which includes 51 rows of houses, 37 apartments, a 22-room boutique hotel, 4 rooms+restaurant, a pension, 5 restaurants under the name of Pruva Evleri (Prow houses) , was completed in 2013. Güverte (Deck) Houses Project with 32 houses will be delivered in 2023.
